The Meg

Every Summer, the Alamo Drafthouse’s Rolling Road Show gives movie fans all the thrills and chills of Jaws by screening it on the water.

Now, there’s something even better coming to the shores of Lake Travis at Volente Beach Resort.

Warner Bros. Pictures has given the Rolling Road Show access to an exclusive early screening of the action thriller The Meg. The film pits man (more specifically, Jason Statham) against a prehistoric 75-foot megaladon.

By the looks of this trailer, we’re guessing you’re going to need a bigger boat inflatable raft.

Attendees of the August 5 event will float in the open water on rafts while being the first to see The Meg’s giant shark action

Tickets to THE MEG on the Water will also give guests bonus fun at Volente Beach Resort from 6 to 8:30 p.m. All rides and hang-out spots will be open, including the Lazy Lagoon, The Sidewinder, volleyball, and a beachside bar and grill.

Passes may be available at door but it’s best to buy tickets ahead of time. Admission price is $42 per person and you can purchase here.

The Meg opens nationwide in 2D and 3D on August 10.
