Fun Facts!

Besides being a cult classic, Dazed and Confused gifted us with Mr. Texas himself. McConaughey was plucked out of a bar for a small role in the film but when he got in front of the camera the Austin director Richard Linklater knew he had something. The famous line ‘alright, alright, alright’ was never actually scripted but improvised on a filler scene that is now the most well-known scene from the movie.

Another one of McConaughey’s lines that went on to live beyond Dazed and Confused was “Just Keep Livin’ “. Just Keep Livin’ or J.K. Livin is a foundation started by Matthew and his wife Camila. The foundation is dedicated to empowering high school students by providing them with the tools to lead active lives and make healthy choices for a better future.
