For the second year, the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival presented by the Paramount Theatre will bring over 100 comedians to the ATX. National headliners, up-and-comers and local comedians ensure that there are options for die-hard comedy fans as well as those just looking for a fun(ny) night.

One of those fabulously funny guys is Andy Kinder. You may recognize Kinder from playing the life-affirming character Andy on Everybody Loves Raymond. He can also been seen on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place and hears on FOX’s hit animation, Bob’s Burgers.  Most recently, he was a a judge on Last Comic Standing.

You can catch the comedian five times during the fest:

Four Eyes at The Parish on Thursday, April 25 at 10:15 p.m.

The Fitzdog Podcast at Cap City on Thursday, April 25 at 10:30 p.m.

Stashbox at NY, NY on Friday, April 26 at 10:45 p.m.

Jackie Kashian at NY, NY on Saturday, April 27 at 8:15 p.m.

It seems that two of those are in conflict, but that’s what the Moontower website says so I’m sticking with it.

In prep of what’s sure to be a side-splitting good time, we sent our 10 Totally Texan Questions: The Moontower Comedy Fest Edition.

However, there are actually only nine listed here because someone cut off the last question. Oh, that someone is me.

The Moontower Comedy and Oddity Fest runs April 24 – 27 in Austin.

1. Who is the funniest Texan?

“Rick Perry. Everything that comes out of his mouth is hilarious. Tom Delay was a funnier dancer.”

2.  If you weren’t a comedian, what would you be doing?

“I would be a rocket scientist, or a social director. I don’t know what either of those professions actually do.”

3. What’s your favorite Texas based movie or TV show?

“Was there a movie called Paris, Texas? I think I liked that. Let’s go with that. I enjoy Austin City Limits. Am I getting warm? I like all the Chainsaw Massacre movies, except the last one, where they used a solar powered saw. Boring.”

4. Who’s your favorite Texas musician?

“Rosie Flores. Hands down! She’s the bees knees.”

5. What’s your favorite Texas food?

“Salt Lick Barbecue. Amy’s Ice Cream. Rudy’s Barbecue. All the varieties of Mexican food. Tex Mex and Mex Tex.”

6. What reality show would you appear on?

“I would be The Bachelor if my wife was cool with it.”

7. What’s the craziest fan encounter you’ve had?

“Not crazy but a guy in a supermarket wanted to know what ever happened with me. Like I had passed away, career wise.”

8. Who would play you in the movie of your life?

“Me because nobody else would be interested. The critics will say I didn’t do myself justice.”

9. What one word best describes you?

“Jewtastic.”
