A rebel alliance was out in full force in Austin on Wednesday to honor of Carrie Fisher, AKA Princess Leia.

Fans of all ages showed up to salute Carrie Fisher by raising their sabers and lighting up the sky outside the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar.

As the Dead Music Capital Band played on, lightsaber vigil attendees snapped pictures with classic characters like Jawa, Ewoks and R2D2 to the Empire’s newest baddies Captain Phasma and Kylo Ren.

We don’t know how Carrie Fisher would feel about the tribute (she’d most likely scoff in her distinctively sarcastic way), but we felt at one with the force and were happy to show Leia we loved her.

Even if she already knew.

Shortly after the tribute, we got word that Fisher’s mother Debbie Reynolds passed as well. May the force be with them both.
