FOMO Factory

A selfie experience is coming to Austin and we’re so in (stagram)!

Tickets to the FOMO Factory are on sale now and you do not want to miss out on this limited time art installation.

Similar to the Museum of Ice Cream, The Pizza Experience and Happy Place, this pop up art space leads attendees on an experiential journey through childhood with larger-than-life art sets and interactive exhibits that touch on all five senses.

Highlights of the one-hour experience include a musical room where visitors are issued retro portable cassette players and mix tapes as they swing on oversized tape swings, a grown up playground complete with a lemonade stand and a giant ball pit designed to give the feeling of summer vacation.

While it sounds like the perfect place to snap all kinds of instagram worthy pics, CEO and native Austinite Rachel Youens promises even more satisfaction.

“We expect people will come for the selfies, but what they’ll discover is a fully curated experience filled with theater, tastes, and music specially designed to tap into childhood nostalgia,” Youens said in a release.

Happening from September 14 through October 21, you can find the exhibit at 720 Red River Street. You may know the building as the former location of Headhunters. It was also featured on a 2014 episode of Bar Rescue where it was remodeled into the steampunk bar, Metal & Lace.
