Fans of the LBGTQ web series Queering can relive the pilot episode when it screens as part of the episodic pilot competition at SXSW.

The series is one of just 12 pilots selected for the competition. The winner will be announced on Tuesday night at the awards show.

Of course, you can also watch the complete season one and two on Youtube.

The web series stars Susan Gallagher (whom you may recognize from Safe Harbor, Treme, Bloodline and Cobra Kai) Sophia Grasso and Devin Oh.

The plot line revolves around Harper, who is ready to live the best phase of her lesbian life. But the tables turn when her mother unexpectedly comes out as queer.

We asked Creator, Writer and Director Leticia De Bortoli a few questions about her upcoming screening and first ever trip to the ATX.

What are you most looking forward to in Austin?

“I really want to meet as many people as possible. I’m excited to connect with other filmmakers and producers!”

What Texas food are you most looking forward to eating in Austin?

“I’m vegan, so I’m hoping to find some great versions of a Pecan pie and Texas Chili!”

What attracted you or inspired you to create this project?

“My main inspiration was my relationship with my mother and how that relationship changed as we both got older. I started to embrace the fact that, despite her age, she’s still in a constant state of discovery. In the end Queering is all about the moment that all children must experience; when they realize that their parents are people too and it’s an experience that allows you to evolve your relationship with your parent.”

What other projects will you be working on in 2019?

“I’m working on a pilot of a Queer Sci-fi show to be shot around Salem, MA, and working to develop a coming of age feature to be shot in Brazil!”

Here’s where and when you can see Queering at SXSW:
Sunday, March 10, at Alamo Lamar at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, March 13, at Rollins Theatre at 2:30 p.m.
