The film Like Me premiered at SXSW on Monday but you still have two more chances to catch the drama thriller.

The story involves a young girl who, after posting a video of herself robbing a convenience store, amasses a huge social media following. Through her travels, she encounters a drifter, an Internet troll and a paint huffing outsider who are all pulled into her circle of chaos, junk food and drugs. While she is intent on exposing something gutturally truthful about humanity, she ultimately must confront herself.

We asked director Robert Mockler what attracted him to the project.

I wanted to make something visually ambitious, but also hopefully something that was filled with characters that were strange, flawed and emotionally complex.

Mockler, who also serves as writer, editor and producer of the film, has never been to SXSW and he says he’s looking forward to watching as many movies as humanly possible.

We also asked about his favorite Texas things.

What is your favorite movie and/or TV show shot in Texas?

Dazed and Confused.

Who is your favorite Texas musician?

Janis Joplin.

What actor would you call “totally Texan?”

Tommy Lee Jones.

What Texas food are you most looking forward to eating in Austin?

Tacos.

What advice do you have for Austinites looking to get into the biz?

Don’t do it unless you are completely and utterly possessed.

You can see Like Me at the following times:

Tuesday, March 14, at 3:45pmat Alamo Lamar.

Wednesday, March 15, at 11pm at Alamo Lamar.
