The ladies behind Inheritance talk SXSW, two-stepping and the White Horse

Writers and directors of the film Inheritance Laura E. Davis and Jessica Kaye are making their first appearance as filmmakers at SXSW 2017.
Before chatting about Austin and the Lone Star State, we asked the dynamic duo to describe their film in one sentence.Inheritance
Inheritance is a dark and stormy drama about a woman fighting for intimacy in the present while being challenged to face the reality of her past.

As for what they are most looking forward to in Austin, they says their entire team will be two-stepping at the White Horse. When they aren’t meeting inspired and inspiring people, that is.

What is your favorite movie and/or TV show shot in Texas?

Paris, Texas. Days of Heaven. Friday Night Lights.

Who is your favorite Texas musician?

Beyonce. Willie Nelson. Kinky Friedman. Balmorhea.

What actor would you call “totally Texan?”

Sissy Spacek. Matthew McConaughey.

What Texas food are you most looking forward to eating in Austin?

Anything at Dai Due. Gelato at Gelateria Gemelli!

What advice do you have for Austinites looking to get into the biz?

There is an amazing community of filmmakers here. Make your own work and tap into the support, encouragement and feedback of that community.
